I'll depend on you

Kiko's been hurt before.

This time last year, Kiko finally got asked out by this sophomore guy, Joe. Common name, common face, nuthin special about him. He was undeserving of anything to do with Kiko, much less date her. She, though she wouldn't admit it, had the biggest thing for him. Just like in all the movies, she offered to help him with his math. After spending weeks tutoring him in algebra, he asked her to a movie. She double dated with Maria, who always has a boyfriend, and went to dinner with him on his birthday and all that crap.

She was so devoted to him, like everything she does. Never looked at another guy, never flirted. We all thought everything was great between them. They even snuck off once during lunch and didn't come back. Everything was seemingly perfect.

Just like all the movies as well, I walked in on him making out in the park with some senior whore.

Since I was the one who saw him, Marie and Ally told me that I was the one that had to tell her. Shit. I told her, she didn't believe me. Said he was too devoted. She then called his house while I was there, to prove it, but he wasn't home. She asked his mom where he was and she said, "Out with one of them dang girls. I' told him not to move so fast, someone's gunna geet hert."

She couldn't take it. It just about killed me to sit there on her bed, watching her cry and tell herself it was all her fault.

I hate thinking about that time period. It was bad for about a month. Eventually we got her out of it, but she has this certain spot that comes up every now and then.

I don't want her to be hurt again. It wasn't her fault. Joe was a jackass. I hope that one day she realizes she means more and is more than that.
